Your business is up and running, you’ve worked hard to sign on new clients and things are going well. Now that you’re in a solid place, it’s time to start thinking about growing your business. This isn’t something that’s going to happen overnight and it’s important to set your business up for long-term success.
If you’re ready to start planning the next step you’re going to take and strategize how you’re going to scale your business, it’s all going to come down to one thing: sustainable practices. Let’s dive in!
3 Ways to Grow Your Business
Taking shortcuts to grow your business is a thing of the past and newsflash: it’s not going to impact you long-term. Instead, we’re going to work hard, provide high-quality services/products, and push our businesses to new heights.
Identify Your Ideal Client
The first step in growing your business is determining exactly WHO your ideal client/customer is. If you don’t know who they are, you won’t be able to market and connect with them.
Sit down and write out who your dream client is. Don’t be afraid to get down to the nitty-gritty, it’s only going to help you in the end. Here are some questions to ask yourself about your ideal client:
-
Who are they? How old are they? Where do they live?
-
What is their occupation and income range?
-
Are they married, single, have kids?
-
What does their lifestyle look like?
-
What are their buying traits?
-
What is their personality like?
Dig deep! Something I do to identify my ideal client is to create a persona. This persona covers how old my ideal client is, what they do for work, where they live, what their passions are, and what their lifestyle looks like.
Fulfill Your Ideal Client’s Needs
Now that you know WHO your ideal client is, it’s time to figure out HOW you can fulfill their needs so you can create content that resonates with them. What are clients’ needs? How can you fulfill them?
Focus on their pain points and present a solution that helps satisfy their wants and needs. In order to get a client to commit to your services or purchase a product from you, you need to stir up the right emotions with compelling content.
BE STRATEGIC.
At the end of the day, you need to position yourself as the expert and show your ideal client that you’re the person they want to work with.
Think Big Picture & Practices That’ll Benefit You Long-Term
We all love Instagram, but posting to your feed once a day and going back to client work isn’t how you’re going to grow your business. You need to invest time and energy into your business so it can serve you in the long run.
This will be different depending on your goals but they’ll be tasks that are currently driving eyeballs to your services/products. It could be investing in SEO and ensuring your website is optimized so your audience can find you on Google. It could be investing time into Pinterest to ensure your content is searchable and inspires your ideal audience. It could be starting a Podcast or creating a workshop that allows you to teach your audience.
